IvyLoL is a collegiate league for League of Legends, where current students (and alumni, on occasion) can represent their schools and battle it out in season-style play, tournaments, and local LAN events.
IvyLoL features a Premier League, where the top teams from the top schools in North America compete, and an Open League, where any number of teams from any college can participate. During the season, each team will have a match each week against another team from within their league, with the last match of the season being Rivalry Week (think GA vs. GA Tech, Clemson vs. SC, Princeton vs. Penn). Division winners and other high-placing teams are invited to their league's final tournament, where their league's champion is crowned.
Each season runs for an academic semester (2 seasons per year), with 10 weeks of regular season play, a midseason tournament, and an end-of-season tournament. Over the summer, and sometimes during the year, IvyLoL holds tournaments open to teams not participating in the season, but most of matches and events happen within season play.
